New Brazilian Poems, edited by Abhay K.

“‘Yes, these are new times.’ says Mariana Ianelli in one of the poems in this new anthology of Brazilian poetry translated into English. This book fills a gap that has lasted more than a generation, and its numerous and diverse voices sing a multiple Brazil – urban, rural, European, African, American – at a crucial point in the history of this vibrant and imaginative nation.” – Nicholas Birns, New York University

“Continuing the work of Elizabeth Bishop, Abhay K,’s bilingual anthology provides a broad sampling of poets, themes, and styles. What is especially significant is the collection’s geographic range, which introduces writers from all corners of Brazil.” – Darlene J. Sadlier, Indiana University
